The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index and Dashboard 2020-21 has been launched by NITI Aayog for the third time. Kerala continues to be at the top of the SDG Index, while Bihar remains at the bottom of the government think tank’s SDG India Index.
The NITI Aayog compiles the SDG India Index every year to assess the progress of states and union territories based on social, economic, and environmental factors.
With thorough talks with the States and Union Territories, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), UN agencies led by the United Nations in India, and major Union Ministries, the SDG India Index 2020-21 was planned and created by NITI Aayog.

The SDG India Index 2020-21 assesses state and UT progress in terms of economic, social, and environmental indicators.
In the NITI Aayog’s SDG India Index 2020-21, Kerala was placed as the best-performing state with a score of 75, while Bihar was the worst-performing state with a score of 52.
On a scale of 0 to 100, the SDG India Index 2020-21 rated the states and union territories on their progress toward 16 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
