The International Cricket Council (ICC) honoured Virender Sehwag. The ICC ‘Hall of Fame’ includes Sehwag. In addition to Sehwag, the ‘Hall of Fame’ includes Diana Edulji and Aravinda de Silva. There are now 112 players in the ‘Hall of Fame’.

Before Virender Sehwag and Diana Edulji, seven Indian players won this award. Vinoo Mankad made this list in 2021. In July 2019, Sachin Tendulkar received this honour. Anil Kumble gained this honour in 2015 and Rahul Dravid in 2018. Bishan Singh Bedi and Sunil Gavaskar joined the inaugural ‘ICC Cricket Hall of Fame’ in 2009. This honour went to Kapil Dev in 2010.

45-year-old Sehwag thanked the ICC and jury. My favourite thing in life was hitting the cricket ball, and I’m grateful for it. I also appreciate the prayers of my family, friends, teammates, and fans.
