Guidelines for Lockdown in Tamil Nadu
On 28 May2021, the government of Tamil Nadu stated that the lockdown imposed by COVID will be extended till 6 am on 7 June 2021.
The ongoing lockdown was supposed to end on May 31, but due to the rising number of COVID-19 infections and deaths in the state, it has been extended.
Tamil Nadu will implement complete lockdown guidelines on June 1st.
Activity Permitted
- Ration shops are open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Newspaper distribution, postal service, and courier service are all essential services.
- Ambulances, funeral services, and veterinary pharmacies are among the services provided by hospitals and diagnostic centers.
- Essential departments include Secretariat offices, district Collectorates, and treasuries.
- Vaccination clinics
- Banks, ATMs, and bank-related transportation, but with only one-third of the workforce.
- Bunks for gasoline and diesel.
- Firms in the media, telecommunications, and related industries.
- The number of people permitted to attend funerals has been limited to 20.
Activity Prohibited
- Inter-district and intra-district vehicular movement that is not required (including public transport).
- Worship locations.
- Tourist attractions include beaches, monuments, parks, and botanical gardens.
- All stores, including provision and grocery stores, as well as meat stalls, would be closed.
- Export units, or units with export commitments
- TASMAC liquor stores are located throughout the state of Tasmania.
- Salons, spas, and beauty parlors
- Recreation clubs, swimming pools, all bars, auditoriums, entertainment parks, and meeting rooms are all available.
- Koyambedu and other wholesale market premises have retail sales.
- All social, political, sporting, recreational, educational, and cultural events, both indoor and outdoor, would be prohibited.
- All private offices, including IT and ITES, would be shut down. Employees have the option of working from home.
- Tourist hotspots like the Nilgiris and Kodaikanal.
- Camps for the summer.
- Platform vendors and tea shops
