Maharashtra’s New Lockdown Regulations
According to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the lockdown has been extended for 15 days and will now last until June 15.
Thackeray, on the other hand, stated that relaxations will be granted to each district based on the positive rate and availability of oxygen beds.
Break the Chain: Maharashtra’s New Lockdown Guidelines
- According to a state government regulation, all establishments and stores providing basic services are permitted to remain open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- In the case of all non-essential shops (stand-alone stores and not inside shopping centers/malls), the decision to enable the opening of such stores, as well as the time restriction for their operation, may be made by the respective Disaster Management Authority. These, if permitted to operate, shall not be permitted to operate beyond the hours permitted for necessary shops and shall not be permitted to operate on weekends.
- Milk collection, transportation, and processing may be permitted without limitation.
- Personnel employed in airport and port services and required for the transfer of goods containing medications or equipment required for
- COVID-19 management will be permitted to use local, monorail, and metro services.
- Local District Management Authority (DMA) authorized to impose additional limits generally or to specific sectors or specific locations with intimation to SDMA and shall provide at least 48 hours public notice before implementing such additional restrictions.
