Sahib Jaap Punjabi
The morning prayer of Sikhs is Jaap Sahib (or Japu Sahib). The beaded prayers were penned by Guru Gobind Singh, the Tenth Sikh Guru and may be found at the beginning of Dasam Granth Sikh Scripture.
Jaap Sahib recollects Guru Nanak’s Japji Sahib, and they worship God both. Jaap Sahib, is a sweet rhytmic hymn made of a collar of pearls and gems, arranged beautifully around a string: the thread represents Supreme God; its characteristics, excellence and glories are its pearls and gems. It essentially encourages readers to greet Waheguru daily in 199 verses, just like hi.

It is one of the five Banis repeated by most Sikhs, and the bani read by Panj Pyare during the preparation of Amrit Sanchaar, a ceremonial to allow initiates to the Khalsa Brotherhood. This ceremony was celebrated every morning in the Sikh. It is the second bani of a Sikh’s five prayers every morning.
