Ariana Grande Shares Touching Tribute to Victoria Monét After 2024 Grammys Win
Ariana Grande wrote a touching message after her longtime collaborator and friend Victoria Monét won several 2024 Grammys, including Best New Artist.
This friendship is growing like Home Depot.
After Victoria Monét won three Grammys on Feb. 4, including Best New Artist, her longtime friend Ariana Grande congratulated her: “On My Mama”
“My friend you deserve this one million times over,” she wrote on her Instagram Story Feb. 4. “I am speechless with pride and joy for you. For years, you’ve worked hard and given your all to this industry while quietly being in your own league.”
Ariana, who sang “Monopoly” with Victoria in 2019, also celebrated their friendship.
“We’ve talked about this happening since the day we met over many tour bus sleepovers,” she said. I’m so lucky to be one of your collaborators, and seeing the goodness you’ve poured into them over the years pour back into you is the greatest joy. No amount of happiness covers it. This is your motherfucking moment!”
After meeting in 2011 on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, Victoria, 34, and Ariana, 30, have remained close. In fact, Victoria cowrote Ariana’s biggest hits “7 rings,” “thank u, next,” and “34 + 35.”
Victoria received her first Grammy nomination at the 2020 ceremony for her work with Ariana on thank u, next, which she called “the closest I can get to writing for myself.”
The “yes, and?” singer has praised working with her friend for years.
“It’s so rare to meet people in the industry that haven’t been tainted by it or developed some kind of crazy ego,” the 30-year-old told Billboard in 2019. “She is a timeless writer and vocalist, one of the nicest people I know, and deserves the world. I’m proud of our work and excited to see her grow as an artist.”
